Please Join CFOW at Saturday's Women's March
Here is the plan for the CFOW contingent going to the Women's March on Saturday. We will take the MetroNorth train that passes through the Rivertowns around 10:20 (e.g. 10:24 in Hastings.) We will go to 125th St. and then walk a few long blocks west to Malcolm X Blvd and then take the 2 or 3 subway to 72 St. and Broadway. Then we will walk to the March route on 72nd St. and Central Park West. We think we will get there about 11:30 - 11:45. The March supposedly starts at 12:30.
The reason to go to 125th St. instead of changing for the subway at Marble Hill is that the latter stop requires climbing 95 steps to get to the subway.
If we learn in the morning or while we are on our way that the March route will be too crowded/closed at 72nd St., we will get off the 2-3 subway further uptown, e.g. 96th and change for the local for a stop above 72nd St.
If you have questions about logistics, please email Elisa Zazzera, the CFOW point-person for this expedition - zazzera.elisa@gmail.com.
[For those not joining the NYC March, please join us for a vigil/rally at our usual spot in Hastings, at the VFW Plaza (Warburton and Spring St.) at noon. The rally will focus on supporting the Women's March, perhaps tweaked by DACA/"Keep Families Together" (depending on what issues emerge from the chaos of the next 48 hours).]
